[00:00:16] Speaker A: Yeah, it's been a crazy couple months. It's been good crazy.
Oh, and program director Oliver wants to be on the show. He's barking in the backyard.
[00:00:27] Speaker B: What do you know? It's been a while since we heard from program director Oliver.
[00:00:31] Speaker A: Yeah, pdo.
[00:00:33] Speaker B: That's it.
[00:00:34] Speaker A: In the house. No, well, he's out of the house actually, so. Yes, there has been a lot going on.
Want to give a very special shout out to our boy Corey.
[00:00:46] Speaker B: Yeah. You'll find me looking at the name of this episode going, who in the world is Corey? Yeah.
[00:00:50] Speaker A: Who's Corey? So Corey was an Uber driver we had last week, and he was a cool dude, and Cory was the first person that, like, has ever looked at our address and gone, oh, 404 house not found.
[00:01:06] Speaker B: So I squeed. And then you immediately told her about the podcast.
[00:01:09] Speaker A: Yeah, And I was like, yeah, funny you should say that. We have a podcast called 404 site s I g h T Not Found. And he's just like, is it on Spotify? It is. Okay. Followed.
[00:01:21] Speaker B: Yeah, there was no question.
[00:01:22] Speaker A: No, no question.
[00:01:24] Speaker B: It was.
[00:01:25] Speaker A: We had a couple other spot. We had a couple other fun drivers on Saturday.
[00:01:30] Speaker B: Sure did.
[00:01:31] Speaker A: Wally was a trip man.
[00:01:33] Speaker B: Yes, they were some hilarious people.
[00:01:35] Speaker A: And Cowboy Chris.
[00:01:37] Speaker B: Yes. I will say this, folks. Be nice to your Uber drivers as long as they're, you know, nice to you. Yeah, I mean, you want to be nice anyway, but especially if they're nice to you. But they. You can have some very fun times.
[00:01:51] Speaker A: Oh, my gosh. Can you ever.
[00:01:53] Speaker B: That's how you make some friends in an area when you're.
[00:01:56] Speaker A: And not all your trip. Not all your conversations are appropriate for this podcast.
[00:02:00] Speaker B: That is correct.
[00:02:01] Speaker A: That was fantastic.
[00:02:03] Speaker B: Cowboy Chris got pretty freaked out by Be My Ass.
I can't repeat everything that he said, but he essentially said, wow, that freaked me out. That was too good.
[00:02:16] Speaker A: Now, my favorite part is, is when we book him, because this is the second time we've had him, it actually says Chris and then in parentheses, cowboy.
So we're not adding the cowboy as, like, a superfluous thing. That is part of his name on.
[00:02:32] Speaker B: Uber, and that's why we remembered him so well, because that was just kind of a standout sort of thing that happened.
[00:02:39] Speaker A: I don't think it's every day you see somebody with the Uber name of Cowboy.
[00:02:43] Speaker B: No, you just don't.
[00:02:44] Speaker A: I don't think it normally happens.
[00:02:46] Speaker B: And so, yeah, he picked us up from where we were Saturday and it was funny. We're just like, Chris, how's it going, man? Hey, Br us.
[00:02:56] Speaker A: And he sure did.
So we're going on a trip at the end of this week. We're going to Chicago. We will try to do. I think we should do some on site podcasts, try to do some Chicago footage.
[00:03:10] Speaker B: No promises.
[00:03:11] Speaker A: But no promises. We. We'll try to do.
[00:03:15] Speaker B: We're gonna do train, but we're not really.
[00:03:18] Speaker A: We're not taking the train anymore because Dukes will be closed on Monday, so no Dukes, which makes me sad.
So we can't. Can't do Dukes. They're closed Tuesday too, so can't even do it Tuesday.
We'll. We'll see what we can do. Maybe we can do some on location episodes.

Yeah. Well, maybe we should do a tour of our hotel room. Yes, that would be cool. Because I'm sure you all want to know what our hotel room looks like.

So that's really what's going on. I'm trying to think, like if there's anything we've missed, it's been a while, but I don't. Yeah.
[00:04:04] Speaker B: Work hasn't. There just hasn't been a lot to share because what we've been doing is just going through our daily routines and.
[00:04:11] Speaker A: Then going to sleep.
[00:04:12] Speaker B: Pretty much it's like, get up, work, eat food, go to sleep. So, like, what is there to talk about? That's.
[00:04:18] Speaker A: We did celebrate our 18 month anniversary on March 22, so that was cool.
[00:04:22] Speaker B: Typical form. We went to Big Easy and then we went back again this past weekend.
[00:04:28] Speaker A: And it's great because they pretty much know us by name now.
[00:04:31] Speaker B: Yeah. The owner greets us whenever we're there.
[00:04:34] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:04:34] Speaker B: This time she was giving me some grief. That doesn't look like jambalaya on your plate.
[00:04:38] Speaker A: And she was like, yeah, we're just going to lie and tell you that we don't have it so you'll order something else.
[00:04:43] Speaker B: Always gets it. Yeah.
[00:04:43] Speaker A: I always order the Jumbalaya every time because it's good.
[00:04:46] Speaker B: Yeah.
We also thought we'd do something else kind of fun and different.
Liam has a birthday coming up in a few weeks.
[00:04:56] Speaker A: I do.
[00:04:57] Speaker B: It's a big one.
[00:04:58] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:04:58] Speaker B: I'm gonna turn 40 and I probably should have ordered his birthday present a little later than I did. I wasn't doing some really good math.
[00:05:11] Speaker A: But numbers are hard.
[00:05:13] Speaker B: Yeah. Realized If, Lord forbid, any part of this present isn't functional and has to go back or anything like that, I need to allow myself a window of time in which I could actually go and return it to Mail Mart.
[00:05:32] Speaker A: That's M A I L Mart, not M A L E Mart. Just.
[00:05:35] Speaker B: It's Liam backwards Mart.
[00:05:36] Speaker A: Yeah, Liam backwards Martin.
[00:05:38] Speaker B: Because otherwise, like, if I were to give this to him on his birthday, the return day is, like, two days after that, or the. Is the end of the return window. And, well, I have to work both of those days.
[00:05:50] Speaker A: So I would have to go back, and I'd have to go take my own present back to the store.
[00:05:54] Speaker B: And we don't even know how they.
[00:05:55] Speaker A: Would feel about that.
[00:05:57] Speaker B: So I'm bringing this over to you.

[00:08:55] Speaker B: I don't know. It does. I mean, I think it's got a usb, but I don't know if that's. If you have to plug it in or if that's just to charge it.

[00:09:04] Speaker B: Yeah, I didn't read the manual first.
Like, I apparently failed Tech Support 101. There's.
[00:09:11] Speaker A: I mean, I see a USB cord. Well, let's. Let's see. So I think. I see a recessed button that I think is a power button.
[00:09:18] Speaker B: That would make sense.
[00:09:21] Speaker A: Let's see. I guess to press it or do I hold it and then there's all sorts of little buttons and lights and things. Maybe I hold it.

[00:09:49] Speaker B: And then it didn't work.

Oh, we got one symbol out of it. That was cool.
So this is a neat little.
[00:10:19] Speaker B: Yeah, we've had a few friends that have gotten these and thoroughly enjoyed them. And yeah, you were definitely looking at it, but not sure, you know, if you actually are going to go for it and pick one up. And so I kind of waited a while because I want you to change your mind. I was like, this would be the perfect birthday present.
[00:10:43] Speaker A: It's a really good size, too.
[00:10:47] Speaker B: Oh.
[00:10:47] Speaker A: Oh, okay.

[00:10:53] Speaker A: Oh, no. What is the bar on the bottom.
I touched that and it's not working anymore.
[00:11:00] Speaker B: Oh, is that a volume or something?
[00:11:02] Speaker A: I don't know.
[00:11:04] Speaker B: We. We may need to get out the manual for this.
[00:11:08] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm thinking. So we're gonna need to ask the experts.
[00:11:13] Speaker B: Yeah.
Gee, I. I don't know where we could find any of those.
[00:11:17] Speaker A: I don't know. Yeah, I thought the bottom long one was like.
But yeah, it was. It was making noise. Now it's not. Everyone's gonna comment on this and be like, you know how to use a drum machine, Liam? Okay.
[00:11:31] Speaker B: No, this is all new to Liam, I think.
[00:11:35] Speaker A: Oh, you know what it is. I think the battery is low. Oh, so the battery needs to be charged.
[00:11:41] Speaker B: I think that would make sense.
[00:11:44] Speaker A: So maybe I'll do a podcast a little later in the week of actually describing. Yeah. Because I wonder if this just plugs into a USB port.
[00:11:51] Speaker B: I think so.
[00:11:52] Speaker A: I don't remember there being any extra charge.
Yeah, because that's why it just. Did you hear it kind of, like, cut off?
[00:12:00] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:12:01] Speaker A: So it. It just needs to charge back up. Well, this is awesome. Thank you. I honestly wasn't expecting this.
I really got what I wanted. Like, I'm getting what I want for my birthday, which is to get to spend it with you, and I don't. Didn't really need anything else, but I'm appreciative of it.
[00:12:22] Speaker B: I knew it was a thing you've been looking at, but I didn't know if you would ever actually get it for yourself. And you've.
You've had a crazy year. You deserve something nice.
[00:12:34] Speaker A: Well, I got something nice. Listen, I'm getting married in September. I mean, that's. You know what. What more can you ask for, honestly?
[00:12:44] Speaker B: Well, if it's like an arranged marriage, you're probably just like, do I have to? But thankfully, in our case, it's not.
[00:12:49] Speaker A: It's more like a deranged marriage.

No, it is very good that we don't work in an office, because we would have to really dial back our personalities. I think is a good way to say it.

[00:13:57] Speaker A: Buttons, and then you see other pads, like the one at the bottom. The long one, I think is like your bass drum, because I believe you use your thumbs for your bass and then.

[00:14:08] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:14:09] Speaker B: So this is A Yamaha. I think it's FG4 30.
[00:14:13] Speaker A: Yeah. Cuz the 50 has a screen.
[00:14:15] Speaker B: Yeah. This does not. So it talks when it works.
[00:14:18] Speaker A: When it works.
[00:14:19] Speaker B: And you use all the buttons up at the top I guess here to pick your menus and which type of.
[00:14:25] Speaker A: And I guess you can change like.
[00:14:27] Speaker B: There'S like 30 different kits or something.
[00:14:29] Speaker A: Yeah, there's 30 or 40 different kits and then you can change the parameters of the kits so you can do like effects and stuff on them and I believe you can even do like an eq.
[00:14:38] Speaker B: This is a cool little. I've. I don't know a lot about drums.
[00:14:41] Speaker A: I believe it is midi so you can actually.
[00:14:45] Speaker B: Sounds right.
[00:14:46] Speaker A: Connect it to like reaper or something and program it and yeah, there's two.
[00:14:50] Speaker B: USB looking things on it. Unless that maybe one of those is something else. There's one right here on the back. Right edge.
[00:14:56] Speaker A: I don't know what that is.
[00:14:58] Speaker B: I don't.
[00:14:59] Speaker A: But the USB is right. Yeah, right there.
[00:15:02] Speaker B: Surprised they're using micro. I guess this is a little bit older though.
[00:15:05] Speaker A: Yeah, I think this one's older.
So it uses micro.
[00:15:09] Speaker B: Hey, it's got nothing on my Yamaha P105 portable digital piano. That is portable very loosely. It's a pretty large.
[00:15:16] Speaker A: What's cool is you can put this in a bag.
[00:15:19] Speaker B: You could carry this in your backpack on the trip.
[00:15:22] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:15:23] Speaker B: And people on the plane.
[00:15:27] Speaker A: I can bring it with me. I'd be happy to. Yeah. There's two long pads.
I. And we'll have to figure out what they all do. It's so. Look, maybe I'll do another podcast later in the week and. And I'll play around with this thing once I can.
[00:15:42] Speaker B: Yeah. And I'm sure some of the dedicated followers. Andre, Jerry, Rachel, y'all know who you are.

I mean, I guess one can argue that piano is percussion, but this is the kind of thing I would probably learn on because I'm already used to playing things like piano and violin, so who knows, I may end up getting something out of this one day too. I don't know.

[00:16:34] Speaker B: It'll be a fun thing to have around. The house.
