[00:00:08] Speaker A: Hello and welcome to 404. Site not found for February 2, 2025. And I believe this is the first episode of 2025. [00:00:18] Speaker B: Yeah, it's been a while and it's. [00:00:20] Speaker A: Been a very busy January. Yes. So we redid the living room. We. What else do we do? My mom came and visited and she. [00:00:31] Speaker B: Bought us an entertainment center. [00:00:33] Speaker A: We've been busy with work. We got. Oh, we didn't get our haircut yet. We did something else. [00:00:41] Speaker B: We went to the Big Easy a few times. [00:00:43] Speaker A: Oh yeah, we've been to Big Easy a few times. We also watched a lot of cartoons. [00:00:50] Speaker B: Yes. You discovered a cartoon channel. [00:00:52] Speaker A: Yeah, I discovered a cartoon channel which I am adoring. If anybody gets me TV tunes. That is probably the best channel on TV right now. It is just all old cartoons and it is the greatest thing ever. We discovered a new game show, Raid the Cage. Yes, we're loving that. [00:01:13] Speaker B: What else? Yeah, where is I rearrange the furniture. [00:01:16] Speaker A: I. I don't know. Oh, there was one more thing. We. We also got engaged yesterday. That's the. The one thing that we did. [00:01:24] Speaker B: Yes, that's the one more thing. [00:01:26] Speaker A: That's the. That's our one more thing. Oh my gosh. So, yeah, that was. Let's be honest, we've been talking about it for a while. I don't think it's. One of our friends kind of gave us a hard time. Yesterday was like, well, you guys weren't exactly secretive about it and no, we didn't need to be, nor do we want to be. [00:01:44] Speaker B: It was something that we were very clear with each other and with our loved ones that this is what we wanted to do. And so while Liam's mom was here, one of the things that we did that we hadn't really talked about publicly because reasons was go ring shopping. [00:02:01] Speaker A: Yes. And it was a really cool experience. [00:02:03] Speaker B: So I actually picked it out and. [00:02:05] Speaker A: I sat and drank a Coke. [00:02:07] Speaker B: I tried to include you on the process and you were just like, no, thank you. I look at it when it's all done. [00:02:11] Speaker A: I was like, I'm good. You know what? I will see it when it's done. It is a very, very pretty ring. It is. Is cool. So I guess we can describe it for the listening audience. I realize this is a audio podcast, which is good because we're like in pajamas, cuz it's a Sunday. [00:02:28] Speaker B: Yeah. So the diamond on top itself is like a one and a half karat, I believe. And it's a kind of a long, skinny rectangular shape, but it's set in, like, a frame that has four pr, I believe. Makes it look squarish. [00:02:45] Speaker A: The ring in total is actually one and a half karat. I think maybe with everything. Yeah, I see. [00:02:50] Speaker B: Maybe it's a one carat. [00:02:51] Speaker A: I think the diamond's about a one carat. [00:02:53] Speaker B: Yeah, that could be. Yeah, maybe the one and a half carat diamond. [00:02:57] Speaker A: I don't understand the whole carrot thing. I'm. I'm not a bunny. I don't like carrots. [00:03:05] Speaker B: But anyway, it's. It's pretty small. It's. You know, I didn't want something huge. [00:03:14] Speaker A: You have small hands. [00:03:15] Speaker B: Yeah, exactly. [00:03:15] Speaker A: So you don't want a giant rock. [00:03:17] Speaker B: No, I wouldn't be able to, like, move my hands around and stuff. We can't have that for so many reasons. [00:03:23] Speaker A: You wouldn't be able to work. [00:03:24] Speaker B: Yeah, sorry. [00:03:25] Speaker A: I'd love to go to work, but this ring is weighing my hand down. [00:03:28] Speaker B: Yeah, can't do it. [00:03:29] Speaker A: Yeah, sorry. [00:03:30] Speaker B: Say up little rectangle with little prongs in each corner. [00:03:34] Speaker A: And that's called a radiant cut, right? Yes, the term that they gave us. So you have oval, you have round, and then you have like a radiant cut. [00:03:43] Speaker B: Then you have emerald, which is like a more squarish. Yeah, this one is more rectangular, which I have small hands and long fingers. I felt like rectangular kind of fit. The bill agreed for that. And the band itself has little diamond chips. So they, you know, centered the main diamond, but then going along the sides of the band down about halfway around, I'd say. Or little. [00:04:09] Speaker A: Just little diamond shapes for spots. Halfway or a quarter, because I don't think it comes all the way down to the side of the finger. I think it's so. [00:04:18] Speaker B: It. [00:04:18] Speaker A: Maybe it does. [00:04:21] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, it doesn't go. [00:04:22] Speaker A: You got it. You're probably wearing it right now. So. [00:04:25] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm checking it out. It may be like a third to. I don't know. I'm not great at measurements. No, I don't think it's completely halfway. [00:04:36] Speaker A: But it's sparkly. [00:04:38] Speaker B: My fingers. [00:04:39] Speaker A: And it is sparkly, which. So the chips add kind of a sparkle to it. It's not like a plain texture thing. It is deep. So that was our big thing. I went to go pick up the ring yesterday. We were waiting for them to set it. What was really cool and. And shout out to Huntington Fine Jewelers of Oklahoma, instead of going to like, a K Jewelers or a Helzberg or something, or Jared or whatever, went to a local place and what was really cool Is they always send you a thank you card. So we got one in the mail, and it was nice. So it was like, oh, cool. A card. It says thank you. What was really neat, though, is when I went back to go get the actual ring, they had another card that was in braille. So this jewelry store figured out, through the magic of the interwebs, how to go get a card made. So that actually said thank you for shopping in Huntington. And it was in braille. [00:05:36] Speaker B: Yeah. And so we are keeping that. It lives on our, like, collector's shelf now. It was just so cool that a place went out of their way to without being asked. Like, we didn't expect that of them at all. It was just like, you know, we're a customer buying a thing, and they went out of their way to find this, you know, find the service that could do this and have it ready when he went to pick it up. And it's an accurate, you know, grade two braille. [00:06:06] Speaker A: It is actually accurate. I don't know if it's. I would assume it's ueb, but I haven't really gone too far that. [00:06:12] Speaker B: So. So, yeah, I guess they found somebody that could transcribe it, and it was really neat to see them just go that extra mile. [00:06:22] Speaker A: It was. And it felt good. And it just. It. It felt good to be included. I mean, obviously, it's just a card. Cards are cards. But it tells you a lot about a person and about a company when somebody goes, let's take the time to be inclusive. [00:06:38] Speaker B: And I think. Didn't she even say, you know, I don't know if this is accurate? [00:06:41] Speaker A: Yeah. She's like, I don't even know if this is correct. She's like, but. And it was perfect. I was so happy. I just. It meant a lot to me. So they will be our jewelry store going forward. We still have to get wedding bands. Some people have asked when the wedding is, so we are doing September 22nd, which is a Monday, but we're doing September 2nd. 22nd. Because it's our anniversary. And then we only have to remember one. [00:07:05] Speaker B: Yes. [00:07:05] Speaker A: Because we have a hard enough time with that. I can barely remember one anniversary. So we're gonna do the 22nd. And we're. It's small, so I've already had some friends be like, oh, when is it? Can we calm? And it's like, now we're doing a small one. We are going to stream it, though. [00:07:23] Speaker B: Yes. We're still figuring out the logistics of that. [00:07:25] Speaker A: Yeah. There's a couple things I'd like to do. What I'd love to do personally is have it audio described. That I think is kind of a pie in the sky. But there might be a way to do that. I'm in the process of researching, seeing if we can have an audio described wedding. Either way, though, it will be available somewhere I would love, because we have. [00:07:49] Speaker B: A family that can't make it that. [00:07:51] Speaker A: We love to have it on YouTube so you guys can enjoy it too. This might be the first that you're hearing about it if you're watching the podcast on YouTube or listening to it on YouTube, whatever the case may be. So, you know, that's, that's our exciting news. [00:08:04] Speaker B: And yeah. So anyone that was, you know, we're recording this on the second. So anyone that was listening yesterday that was tuned into chatting with viewers and Liam was waiting by the phone. [00:08:14] Speaker A: That's what I was waiting for. And ironically went to go take a nap and they called while I was napping. [00:08:19] Speaker B: And I don't think it was planned that it was going to happen in the way that it did. [00:08:24] Speaker A: I mean, I had no idea. [00:08:25] Speaker B: We, yeah, nobody was really for sure. [00:08:27] Speaker A: You almost actually almost ended up getting it on chatting with viewers, but that didn't happen because you would probably would have killed me. So I, I, I know, I know better, but I had a couple plans and I just, I got home with the ring and I was just like, you know what? We've talked about it. It's been a thing. Let's just do it. And I think it was great success. [00:08:50] Speaker B: And contrary to what you told a couple of friends, I didn't say no. Followed by you crying a lot and me going, okay, okay, just stop crying. It's okay. That did not happen. [00:09:00] Speaker A: I like that story. I think it's a good. Why can't we go with that story? [00:09:06] Speaker B: Because it is grossly inaccurate. [00:09:08] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, well, there is that. But, you know, so no, I, I. [00:09:13] Speaker B: Kind of realized what was about to happen as it was happening. But it was very sweet. It was just. We were sitting on the couch and you pulled it out of your pocket and I thought I, I didn't know right away if you were just looking at it or if you were planning to put it on my finger. I soon got my answer. [00:09:33] Speaker A: You sure did, I think. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And that's the other thing. Now we have two couches in the living room. Because part of our re. Sort of like redesign. Redesign was we brought the couch from your office out to the living room. We finally got rid of my Recliner. [00:09:51] Speaker B: I just. I needed some more space in the office. I feel like it works better because there's definitely going to be some larger work equipment. [00:10:01] Speaker A: You just. You need space. Like I. I think that the couch took up a lot of wall space and it just didn't make sense in there. [00:10:08] Speaker B: No. I mean it was kind of nice because it's like, oh, I can go flop on the couch. But I never do that during work anyway. Like, I tend to sit at my desk and so. [00:10:16] Speaker A: And now you have a chair. So we have these really cool. We have these like. They were like recliner chairs that were in our living room that kind of faced each other. Now they're in our offices and they've like. I know mine is my work chair. I go sit and work in that chair now. [00:10:30] Speaker B: Yeah. Sometimes I'll just sit there to relax or like hang out and do clay. [00:10:35] Speaker A: And my office is funny because I have a work chair. I have a desk and another desk. They're like. My office has two desks. Which one desk. I. It's kind of become the. Let's just put stuff in there. The other desk is where like all the broadcasting stuff lives. [00:10:52] Speaker B: Yeah. And the little glass desk where stuff kind of just lives. Used to be my desk. [00:10:57] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:10:59] Speaker B: Which really was not large enough of a space for all of the things I needed for work. [00:11:04] Speaker A: But sometimes I'll use it. Like if I've got a meeting or something, I'll go sit at that desk. If it's like a camera's on meeting or whatever. Because then I can just set my laptop on it. I don't know. I need to. Actually, as I think about it, I'm like wanting to find a place. I have a corner that we call the Bermuda Triangle. Because all the tech ends up in there and it all disappears. And there is a lot. We. We both have a lot of tech. I don't think we need to go. [00:11:30] Speaker B: Into detail about that. [00:11:32] Speaker A: How many things we have is works. So it's like there's just a lot of tech. So it's like. Yeah. [00:11:41] Speaker B: Sometimes tech oriented people. So they're just. There could be a lot of stuff. [00:11:45] Speaker A: We're nerds. [00:11:45] Speaker B: Yeah. Let's just. [00:11:46] Speaker A: Cause the way we see it. So that's our big exciting news. And we have like really been looking forward to being able to share it with everyone. The original idea was to wait until April. Yeah. That wasn't gonna happen. Yeah. [00:12:01] Speaker B: We. It was the same thing. History repeats itself. It's the same thing that happened when we got together. [00:12:07] Speaker A: The Only thing that's gonna be on schedule is the wedding. I think that'll be the one thing that happens on its actual day. [00:12:12] Speaker B: We need it to be on schedule because we're inviting our parents. [00:12:16] Speaker A: Our parents are coming in. We've got two, like, local friends. We. The. The mozzarellas are. [00:12:23] Speaker B: Yes. [00:12:23] Speaker A: Hanging out. Mary, Mozzarella ravioli are hanging out. We think we're still working on all that. [00:12:32] Speaker B: That's the idea. Yeah. I mean, we really sans that. Our track record of keeping things on the original schedule has not been great. [00:12:41] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:12:43] Speaker B: When we met In September of 23, we did not go into that with expectations. It was, let's hang out. Let's see how this goes. And if we're, you know, feeling like it's good, then let's think about making that official over Thanksgiving. [00:13:02] Speaker A: Yeah. It didn't happen. [00:13:03] Speaker B: No, that's not what happened at all. [00:13:06] Speaker A: We were not supposed to move in together for a much longer time, and there was supposed to be a process and stuff. And that didn't happen. [00:13:14] Speaker B: No. I mean, it was only gonna be by a few months difference. [00:13:17] Speaker A: Yeah. Well, the original idea was that we would live in the same area. Then Colorado was the thing. We're like, well, we can't do that. [00:13:24] Speaker B: It's too expensive. So it was like, okay, we're gonna shift the focus to. Once we move, we're moving together. And then it was like, okay, let's do so in Colorado. And then. Yeah, may happen. [00:13:36] Speaker A: Yeah, may happen. I mean. [00:13:38] Speaker B: And so here we are. [00:13:41] Speaker A: Yeah. But it worked out. So that is our exciting news. And. And hopefully you are somewhat excited as well for us. I don't know. Maybe you got engaged. Talk. Tell us about. If you were engaged and. Or married. Tell us about your engagement. What was that like? Were you surprised if. If you were, you know, I mean, who. Who got engaged to who? So that is the thing. Sometimes the woman asks the man, you know, and obviously, if. If you are of the. The same gender, like, how'd that go for you? Who asked who? Tell us. I want to hear. Yeah, I love stories. Drop us on YouTube. [00:14:20] Speaker B: Honestly, where were you? Yeah, you know, what was the setup? Did you know. [00:14:25] Speaker A: Did you not know the cool thing about this being on YouTube, which I've said before, you can comment. So if you're watching this, like, on a podcast feed or something, jump over to YouTube and drop a comment on the episode. Or drop us a mastodon if you've got that. We're not on Blue sky or anything. I. More and more people are Doing this blue sky thing and I don't understand it. [00:14:48] Speaker B: So many social medias now, I can't keep up with it all. [00:14:51] Speaker A: I'm still using Twitter. Actually posted a thing yesterday and got like 3 comments back and was just kind of bemoaning the fact that like, Twitter has. Has really died. And that made me sad because so many good things happened for me on Twitter and. And met a lot of great friends and stuff, and it's just. It's sad to see. But that's neither here nor there. But I did post it out and got some cool responses back. Got a cool bunch of likes and in fact, Allison Court, who have not spoken to in a long time, but is the voice of Claire Redfield and Lydia from the Beetlejuice cartoon and, uh, Jubilee from X Men, I believe. And also commented or liked it. Didn't comment yet, but she's busy. But Allison's been a longtime friend and that was cool to see. And, and big thanks to everyone, by the way. Big thanks to everyone on Mastodon Facebook, what have you. Who's taken a time to. [00:15:51] Speaker B: And shout out to Kai, the waiter that took our. [00:15:53] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, Big Easy. Yeah, we went to Big Easy to celebrate and got a cool picture and just big, big shout out to everyone who's made this awesome. It's been an amazing weekend, and I mean, we're looking forward to many, many more amazing weekends and years to come. And the wedding's gonna be awesome. We're. It's gonna be simple, but we are simple people and we're just. We're excited and we're glad that we can share it with all of you and, you know, we appreciate your support. So we'll see you hopefully soon. It won't be as long of wait this time. [00:16:28] Speaker B: Work has been so busy, you guys. [00:16:29] Speaker A: Yes. [00:16:30] Speaker B: We haven't been deliberately ditching this. Just things have been very busy. [00:16:34] Speaker A: Work gets busy, and then you, You. You're done with work and you're just like, I just want to go chill. [00:16:39] Speaker B: I just want to eat some food and go to sleep. [00:16:41] Speaker A: Now, the cool thing is the weather, like today, it is beautiful. It is 70 something Fahrenheit. I don't know what that is in. [00:16:49] Speaker B: Celsius, but what's 70 degrees Fahrenheit in Celsius? 70 degrees Fahrenheit is about 21.1. [00:16:56] Speaker A: 21. So it's 21 today, which is awesome. Sorry, we, We. We do our weather units, so we. I don't know about the rest of y'all, but, you know, we. We measure our weather and freedom units. But, oh, boy, that's what the F stands for. For freedom. [00:17:15] Speaker B: Okay, we've probably gone on long enough. Yeah, I'm getting the green light. [00:17:20] Speaker A: That whole. That whole thing's ridiculous. Do you remember Freedom Fries? [00:17:24] Speaker B: Yes. [00:17:24] Speaker A: That was like, come on, now. Come on. [00:17:28] Speaker B: My mom said as long as McDonald's is calling them French fries, they're French fries. [00:17:31] Speaker A: Exactly. Their fries. Anyways, want to thank you guys for tuning in. You know, as always, thanks for watching and. Or listening, and we will see you when we see you here on 404.
