[00:00:08] Speaker A: Hello. It is May 26, 2025, and we're back after a extended hiatus. [00:00:16] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:00:16] Speaker A: So where have we been here? Well, we went to Chicago. I mean, we talked about how we were gonna go to Chicago, and that was a really good trip until we got sick. Yeah. [00:00:28] Speaker B: That's why you didn't hear from us, because we kind of had voices. Kind of not. There was a lot of coughing and just grossness. [00:00:36] Speaker A: I started, and then I gave whatever I had to you, I guess, because I apparently believe in sharing. [00:00:41] Speaker B: Yeah. I ended up taking an extra day off of work because by Monday morning, when I was supposed to go back, I didn't sound very good. And it. Talking was not the most fun thing in the world to do that day. [00:00:55] Speaker A: No, I. I definitely did not feel good. So also, we're recording from outside. [00:00:59] Speaker B: Yes. You might be hearing some cars, some construction. There was music. Seems to have gone away. Yeah, we like birds. [00:01:07] Speaker A: Yeah, they like hearing the birds. We had Cheryl and Russell Crowe out yesterday. [00:01:12] Speaker B: Yes. [00:01:13] Speaker A: Named them. [00:01:15] Speaker B: Yeah. There's the music again. If anyone can name that tune, you know, please let us know. I just hear lots of bass. [00:01:25] Speaker A: I wonder if that's someone playing something or if that's, like. [00:01:29] Speaker B: Someone'S, like, practicing their instrument. [00:01:31] Speaker A: Yeah. I don't know. Play Free Bird. So I love to say that we have all these great updates, but we don't. It's just. It's been very quiet. [00:01:44] Speaker B: Chicago was fun. [00:01:46] Speaker A: It was so much fun. [00:01:47] Speaker B: We had a really nice. The family. You know, your family threw us a really nice engagement party. [00:01:53] Speaker A: We're engaged. [00:01:54] Speaker B: Food. Ha. [00:01:56] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, that's right. [00:01:58] Speaker B: Yeah, for now. Until we get married. [00:02:00] Speaker A: Oh, I thought you meant for now. Like, you're, like, I'm questioning my life choices. [00:02:04] Speaker B: No, no. I wanted to clarify. [00:02:05] Speaker A: Okay. [00:02:06] Speaker B: Right away. [00:02:08] Speaker A: But, yeah, it was a really nice party. We had a lot of my extended family that I haven't seen in quite a long time come out, and we had pizza. And, like, there was a bar, of course, because my family is Irish. [00:02:22] Speaker B: We got to eat at some of Liam's favorite places. [00:02:25] Speaker A: We did. We went to Wild Burger. We went to Don's Dock. Big shout out to Natalie. Not like she's gonna hear this podcast, but. [00:02:33] Speaker B: Well, she might. She's on our Facebooks now. [00:02:35] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:02:36] Speaker B: I don't know how much you share this on Facebook. [00:02:38] Speaker A: I will. I will definitely share this update. It was. It was cool. I'm like. I'm trying to think what the big. We started a little radio station, and it plays this. [00:02:50] Speaker B: I mean, you. [00:02:50] Speaker A: It plays this all day long? [00:02:52] Speaker B: Yes, it just goes all day long. [00:02:57] Speaker A: No, dude, I think someone's playing that. I think. I don't know. I. I kind of want to go find out. Only Kai, though. [00:03:07] Speaker B: Yeah, it's around the corner somewhere. [00:03:10] Speaker A: Oh, I wonder if it's the construction on 4th. [00:03:13] Speaker B: That could be it. Yeah, we've noticed some of our neighborhood folks being frustrated about that and I can understand. [00:03:22] Speaker A: Yes. I started L Works Radio and it's a station that plays the best of neighborhood rock bands. No, it plays. It's like a hot AC format. So if you're familiar with like a mix or like an at work radio or a Flight 26. Had to make sure I said that correctly. [00:03:40] Speaker B: Or like a light rock station sometimes. [00:03:42] Speaker A: They'Re called, but it plays that sort of stuff. It's kind of a workday station. It also provides automated weather and that's been kind of a cool thing to. [00:03:51] Speaker B: Get going for anyone who cares about our weather. [00:03:53] Speaker A: Yeah, if you care about the Yukon, Oklahoma weather, you've got that to look forward to. I. I think someone's jamming out. [00:04:02] Speaker B: Yeah, I want to go bring out. [00:04:04] Speaker A: The drum machine and like jam out. [00:04:06] Speaker B: Along, start a, like a music, like a. A jam. Neighborhood gym. [00:04:13] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah, we're just the neighborhood jam band because everyone in this neighborhood's gonna love that. [00:04:19] Speaker B: Oh yeah. You know, maybe drag out the piano or like the electric violin. Yeah, yeah. Some pans from the kitchen. [00:04:32] Speaker A: We should just do that one day. Bring out your electric violin. Have you just start playing random stuff. I'll just start playing drums and we'll just play on the porch first. [00:04:39] Speaker B: I have to get it tuned and I kind of need help because the E string terrifies me. It's this little tiny thin string and I am so afraid I'm going to break it because, well, it sat like while I was in school, it, you know, sat in my parents house, in my mom's house. So it needs a little TLC before it's actually playable and need to find a place to take it. Maybe just pay them a little bit to fix it up. [00:05:07] Speaker A: So again that's. That's really been our big things. The other thing that we want to share with you on this podcast is for the first time in my life, I got to go play Showdown. And Alyssa has played it before a. [00:05:18] Speaker B: Long time ago, but I have never played. [00:05:20] Speaker A: So we went last Friday to New View, Oklahoma. Big ups to New View. They. I guess we could. I mean, I'm recording for their podcast. Like we can say that. I don't think it's, like, a secret. [00:05:35] Speaker B: Yeah. Don't know when they're releasing, but I. [00:05:39] Speaker A: Will be interviewed on their podcast. And what's kind of cool, actually, is in all of the years that I have done, like, media appearances and stuff, I have never actually done one in person. It's usually been, like, remote. So I'm kind of excited. So I'll be going out there to get interviewed about something. I don't know what I can honestly say that's interesting to the world, but. Okay, so I will be getting interviewed on that, and we'll tell you guys when that's released, and hopefully you'll go check it out and give them some love. But we were over at New View, Oklahoma, last Friday, and they have a power showdown table, and we played some showdown. So we thought instead of, like, giving you the entire game because it's 20 minutes long, we would cut out a couple interesting clips. [00:06:27] Speaker B: Yes. Also, funny highlights. [00:06:29] Speaker A: Big thanks to Hannah Kinsey. Right? That's. That's correct. Because, yeah, Joe has a cat named Kenzie, and I always get that. [00:06:38] Speaker B: Kinsey with an eye. [00:06:39] Speaker A: Kinsey with an eye. Okay. So big thanks to Hannah Kinsey for hanging out. You'll hear her laughing uproariously during the. The podcast, especially during one incident. [00:06:50] Speaker B: Neither of us are exactly showdown champions. When Liam says, I played, that is very generous. When I. So it was actually two different years, would have been 07 and 08. I went to Buddy Camp at Blind Incorporated, which is like a, you know, summer camp for blind preteens and teens, and they had a showdown table there. So I kind of learned about it because, you know, the kids all played while I was there. That was like. That was a fun thing that we did. So since then, I have never played and have, like, zero athletic prowess. [00:07:33] Speaker A: Me, too. [00:07:34] Speaker B: So it was honestly a fairly even matchup. [00:07:38] Speaker A: Yes. So our first clip here is actually is our very first serve, and we had some confusion over where the ball was. So we had an extra ball that was in one of the pockets. I thought it was in my pocket. It was in your pocket. [00:07:54] Speaker B: And I thought I had specified that it was in mine. I think I had said I have the extra ball, but maybe I didn't. Maybe I thought I said it. [00:08:00] Speaker A: So we had some confusion over who scored the first goal. So here you go. Zero. Zero serving. [00:08:12] Speaker B: Did that just go in? It did. [00:08:14] Speaker A: No, I think it's double. [00:08:19] Speaker B: Wait, do you have one in your pocket? There's two balls. [00:08:22] Speaker A: I know. [00:08:22] Speaker B: Do you have one in your pocket? [00:08:24] Speaker A: Oh, it's just right. So I scored. Wait, no. Do you have one in your pocket? Yeah, it's. The extra ball is in hers. Yeah, no, I had one in pot. No, I have one in the pocket. [00:08:36] Speaker B: That just went in you. [00:08:38] Speaker A: This one's here. Yeah, this one's been in my pocket, but it was down. [00:08:41] Speaker B: Then how did you serve it? [00:08:43] Speaker A: I served. Wait. [00:08:45] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:08:47] Speaker A: Where's the other ball? [00:08:48] Speaker B: It's in her pocket where she has been all along. [00:08:51] Speaker A: I scored. No. Yeah, because I served the broth. [00:08:55] Speaker B: There was extra pocket in my pocket since the start. [00:08:57] Speaker A: Okay, so this is a real auspicious start. All right. All right. So, 02 serving. That was wacky. Ah, I can't believe it. That was a great clip to listen to, wasn't it? [00:09:14] Speaker B: Fantastic. [00:09:14] Speaker A: Wow. [00:09:15] Speaker B: So, so good, you know, Brings me back to old times again. [00:09:19] Speaker A: For those that don't know, we don't actually listen to these clips. I just put them in in post production. Our second clip is a quick one. It is my very first and probably only showdown goal. [00:09:32] Speaker B: You had a couple. [00:09:33] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, I guess I did. So here you go. It is a momentous occasion. Liam scored a goal. [00:09:39] Speaker B: 4, 0 serving. Oh, you got it. [00:09:47] Speaker A: That's my first goal ever. No, I got one board. Oh, okay. Ah, what a goal. That felt good, let me tell you. It broke my. My goalless streak that I had in my first match against somebody else. From new view, John walloped me pretty fair and square. It was not even close. And that's okay, but it was. It was not even close. [00:10:11] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm gonna teach you how this works, but you're not winning. Good. [00:10:15] Speaker A: We're gonna teach you how this works. By beating you. [00:10:17] Speaker B: Yeah. Sink or swim. [00:10:19] Speaker A: Soundly. But no, it was. It was fair. He didn't go at full speed. Maybe he should have. I might have actually scored a goal by alpha deflection or something. But our third. Our third clip. [00:10:32] Speaker B: Oh, we know who got the ball this time. [00:10:34] Speaker A: Oh, boy. So I got the ball. I. I got the ball. [00:10:38] Speaker B: I. I scored. The ball landed in the net on your end of the table. [00:10:41] Speaker A: Yes. There was a small problem, which was that I. I was leaning against the table with the pocket in a place that the pocket probably shouldn't have been near. And so ball went in the pocket and. [00:10:59] Speaker B: Yeah, Yeah, I guess in case anyone doesn't know what a showdown table is, it's like a big rectangular table. There's a net on each end. You know, your goal is to get to. To score in the opposite end of where you're standing. So the person at the other end of this table. And then. Yeah. There's a board in the middle that if you. If your ball hits the board, they get a point. I guess we should have explained all that. [00:11:21] Speaker A: I've heard people describe, like, they try to describe it like ping pong. And it's not because the ball is not bouncing. You can bounce the ball, but if you bounce the ball too much and it plinks off the middle board, that's a point for your opponent. [00:11:33] Speaker B: Or if it goes out of the table. [00:11:34] Speaker A: Right. And the table has pretty tall sides. So if you're whipping it off the table, man, you are really, really launching it. But people do. So here's that third clip. Oh, wow. I just learned a valuable shutdown lesson that I would like to share with everyone listening right now. Do not stand directly in front of the pocket. Like, don't. Don't be straight onto the pocket. Okay. Because. [00:12:11] Speaker B: Did that. Did that ball hit? You know. [00:12:20] Speaker A: I think I need a medical time. I think I need a medical timeout. Oh, man. Ouch. That's all I can say. [00:12:29] Speaker B: Can we say ouch? [00:12:31] Speaker A: We can. Ouch. [00:12:33] Speaker B: Hi, Mr. Car. [00:12:35] Speaker A: Hey, Mr. Carr. Well, probably turning at the corner. We're like one. What are we, two houses from the corner? [00:12:41] Speaker B: Yep. There's one house past us and then the corner. [00:12:44] Speaker A: Yep. [00:12:44] Speaker B: So I don't even think he was turning. I think he was just going past our street. [00:12:48] Speaker A: I don't know. No, whatever. Whatever he was doing. [00:12:51] Speaker B: The fun of sitting outside. I also think someone is burning leaves or something. There's our music again. [00:13:00] Speaker A: I think it's someone just rocking out. [00:13:03] Speaker B: I'd love to Shazam that. But we are not close enough to identify what it is. [00:13:07] Speaker A: No. [00:13:07] Speaker B: Could they play a different song? Maybe? That'd be. [00:13:10] Speaker A: I would like a different song. Yes. So what do we have coming up that's exciting. [00:13:17] Speaker B: My mom will be here. My mom and my aunts actually will be here for my birthday. [00:13:22] Speaker A: Yes. You will turn 29 or something. [00:13:26] Speaker B: For the second time. [00:13:27] Speaker A: For the second time. Oh, I feel old. Oh, we celebrated my birthday. [00:13:34] Speaker B: Oh, my gosh. [00:13:35] Speaker A: And I don't even really remember what we did. [00:13:38] Speaker B: We went to Big Easy, of course. [00:13:40] Speaker A: Oh, okay. Maybe that's why I don't remember. [00:13:43] Speaker B: It's kind of the defect, the standard. [00:13:46] Speaker A: But Yeah, I turned 40, so we. [00:13:48] Speaker B: Went the day before because they're closed on Sundays. But they still gave you a free bread pudding. [00:13:53] Speaker A: They did. Which was nice of them. [00:13:57] Speaker B: On your. On your birthday, you streamed. You had your birthday party. [00:14:02] Speaker A: That's Right. And we got to show off the bot that I built. [00:14:06] Speaker B: Yes. And then the day after that, you made the birthday steaks. [00:14:09] Speaker A: I did. Oh, the birthday steaks set off the smoke alarms. [00:14:16] Speaker B: No, nothing was on fire. [00:14:18] Speaker A: I just. So fat burns, apparently. And I was not. Was a little slow in flipping the stakes. And yeah, they. Man, they went and they were good. I mean, they were edible. But yeah, we set off the smoke alarms and that was not the most fun thing in the world. [00:14:36] Speaker B: Never is. [00:14:37] Speaker A: No. But that's okay. [00:14:39] Speaker B: It's kind of nauseating. [00:14:41] Speaker A: Yeah. But, you know, it is what it is. So hopefully we'll do another podcast soon. I don't know what we will share with you guys. Maybe we'll have more exciting stuff, but I know it's been long overdue and. And we've been very bad about updating this. [00:14:56] Speaker B: Yeah. So this may be a little longer than you know. [00:14:59] Speaker A: By the way, to Andre and Kirsten for rocking and rolling on their podcast. And we've gotten a couple call outs, so I appreciate that. They have been really rolling on their cast. It is a lot more. Hey, there's a birdie. Yeah, it's a lot more professional. [00:15:16] Speaker B: We always say that we're going to update this and we're going to do it more frequently and then life happens and we're tired and it doesn't get done. [00:15:26] Speaker A: Yeah. So here we are. [00:15:27] Speaker B: Apologies to that, but thank you for those who keep sticking with us. [00:15:30] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. Thank you. And, you know, if you haven't, make sure you subscribe and get updates. And of course, they're up on YouTube and stuff and we'll try to have more interesting stuff soonish. So I guess that'll just about do it for this episode, you know. Glad you guys could join us and we will see you when we see you here on 404 site not found.
