[00:00:08] Speaker A: Hello and welcome back to 404 sight not found for November 1, 2026. I hope you enjoyed your extra hour of sleep if you're in the US And I think Canada. I actually heard a rumor that parts of Canada aren't doing [00:00:27] Speaker B: daylight saving. [00:00:27] Speaker A: Yeah. You read Farmer Girl as well, huh? [00:00:29] Speaker B: I do. I love her. [00:00:33] Speaker A: I actually knew that before, but I. I knew that they [00:00:39] Speaker B: were part of Canada. That's right. [00:00:41] Speaker A: Yeah. Because [00:00:42] Speaker B: she's like 10 minutes from the board. [00:00:44] Speaker A: Yeah. She's like right on the border. So she's just like, this is weird. [00:00:47] Speaker B: Yes. [00:00:48] Speaker A: It's gonna be so weird for like some of the hockey games that I watch. So like the Rockets and. [00:00:53] Speaker B: Oh, no, [00:00:54] Speaker A: any. Any BC team that we play is gonna get all. But anyways, that's not why we're here today. We are here to talk about what's been going on, which has been considerable because we're really bad at keeping up on this podcast. So we promised you guys a what we were calling Darth on the Hearth, which was a tour of our entertainment center. Still gonna do that. And actually. But what's cool is it might be more Christmassy because, you know, Darth on the Hearth, Elf on the shelf. [00:01:26] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:01:27] Speaker A: But today we wanted to plug some projects. So. [00:01:30] Speaker B: Yeah, life updates. [00:01:31] Speaker A: This is going to be a giant commercial, but stick around for it. [00:01:34] Speaker B: I think the last time we were here was actually the what the heck is Clay stuff episode, wasn't [00:01:39] Speaker A: it? [00:01:39] Speaker B: And that day I said, you know, I, I want to turn this into a business, but, you know, have to move a lot of pieces together. So. More to come on that in a bit. Let's first hear about a couple of Liam's projects. [00:01:53] Speaker A: We can say, [00:01:54] Speaker B: sorry, I'm going to probably monopolize most of this. We [00:01:56] Speaker A: can say the pieces, the pieces were move. I mean, I think like, if you're listening to this, you probably know that by now, but the pieces have moved. But yeah. So the only thing I wanted to talk about was a new podcast. Well, it's new to me because I am now its host. [00:02:10] Speaker B: It's not this one, [00:02:11] Speaker A: but it's not a new podcast. It is called Blind Level Tech and it is brought to you by After Sight, who is a fantastic organization in Colorado. They're in more northern Colorado and they do a lot of blind centric stuff. They do like reading service style things where they do magazines and newspapers. They had a live stream. They don't do that anymore, unfortunately. It'd be cool if they bring it back, but they are, you know, doing that. Also they have a podcast network. They've got about five or six podcasts, including the Blind Chick with Penn street and Moses and another little podcast called Blind Level Tech now with Liam Irvin. And I'm Liam Irvin. So I'm, I'm interested that [00:03:04] Speaker B: there's another Liam Irvin. [00:03:05] Speaker A: No, I hope not. One's enough. [00:03:09] Speaker B: It's this one. Yeah, [00:03:11] Speaker A: one. One's enough. But yeah. So that is a thing. You can find out more at After Sight A F T R S I g h t.org and click on their podcast link and check it out. It is also available in all of your favorite podcast directories. So it's on itunes or Apple Podcast now [00:03:32] Speaker B: check the Victor, I'm sure, [00:03:33] Speaker A: yeah, it's on Victor. It's in all the directories. So I'm sure it's on Victor. It's on the Orbit. [00:03:40] Speaker B: Yeah. I don't know how Victor sources its podcasts. I'm sure they have some. [00:03:44] Speaker A: I forget. But I know it's, I know it's up there. I mean, you can find it. It's on Spotify, it's on all. It's. It's on all the major catchers. So if you're finding this podcast on the Victory, you're finding this the other one on the Victor. So it's not a problem. So, yeah, check it out. It's cool. We've had some really cool guests. We just did another episode yesterday about a really cool. It's like a keyboard for Android, but you talk to it. And so like, what's neat is instead of just being like, hello comma, my name is Liam, period, I like puppies and kitties, period. Do you like puppies and kitties? Question mark you can say something like, I need to draft a reply to this email stating my love for felines and canines in a professional manner. And it will help you build that and allow you to like adjust your draft and talk to it. And [00:04:38] Speaker B: it sounds like a good thing for people who just have difficulty stringing words together or who are having the issue of I want to make sure that my tone on this is good because I've occasionally had to think about that when writing some emails and my knee jerk reaction is to just go, no, I can't do that, but I need to have a better explanation as to why I can't do that. What you can do instead of [00:05:07] Speaker A: well. And I struggle as well with words. I am not a wordsmith. I would rather talk than write. And so, like, this is kind of cool because. And. And the guy that developed it. And again, it'll be. The podcast will be up. Up in a couple weeks actually. But the app is called Mugus and actually has kind of an interesting story why it's called Mugus. And I don't want to spoil the story, but it's. It's an interesting reason and so you'll want to check that out. And that will be on blind level tech in a couple weeks. And you can download the app right now actually on Android and go check it out. And Jeff is really cool. Very nice guy. You know, I. I really enjoyed talking to him when we recorded yesterday. And so also free. Free shout out from Mukoose. Why not? They're. They're cool. [00:05:56] Speaker B: It's Moo Goose. M o o [00:05:58] Speaker A: G-O-O-S-E.com, actually. And you can find all the info and email Jeff and [00:06:04] Speaker B: wanted to spell that out because it could have sounded like mood Goose. No, it's just moo like a cow. Moo [00:06:10] Speaker A: Gooses have one mood and it's usually kill. I don't like geese. Geeses [00:06:17] Speaker B: many much geesen. [00:06:18] Speaker A: But it was cool because when he built the app, he wanted to deal with that problem of not being able to write. And he was like, yeah, I struggle to put my words together and it's not very good. And so wanted to find a solution and he did, and that's awesome. So that's blind level tech. We also talked to Greg. Oh, man, I'm going to screw up. His name. Maroney Morioni Marioni. Yeah. [00:06:45] Speaker B: Greg Maroney is like the piano player. [00:06:47] Speaker A: Yeah, no, Greg Morioni. I think it is. And I'm. I'm going to probably have screwed that up, but he does a really cool thing called no Sight Game Night. [00:06:53] Speaker B: This is going to be like the one exception where you go make an edit. [00:06:56] Speaker A: No, I'm just gonna leave it. [00:06:58] Speaker B: Sorry, Greg. [00:07:00] Speaker A: He'll be okay. Greg will. Greg will be fine. He won't mind. I'm sure. He does not listen to this podcast. And if he does, he's just gonna be like, I can't believe you did that to me, Liam. That was not cool. [00:07:11] Speaker B: He might now if he knows that your YouTube channel exists. [00:07:13] Speaker A: Yeah, okay. Yeah, I think it's Moriani. I think I. I saw it. I. I was thinking, like, Moriarty, like from Sherlock Holmes. So I'm not sure I still have it wrong, but Greg's a cool guy. He runs a site, a YouTube channel called no Sight Game Night. And he does a lot of Board game stuff. And I don't know about you, but I think board games are overlooked. And like, we don't talk about board game accessibility enough because we're all playing computer games. And I like computer games because, you know, [00:07:48] Speaker B: you don't say [00:07:49] Speaker A: no, I, you know, I, I've never made any computer games ever. But you know, if I were to have made them. Yeah, but I like computer games. But I do think that there is this low tech thing that we overlook. I mean, we went to Tipsy island and brought Uno cards. [00:08:08] Speaker B: Like a lot of families get together and have they play games. When we went to see some family for Thanksgiving, they were playing like board games and card games. And though they, you know, wanted to make a really good faith effort to adapt that for us, which I appreciated, it was kind of a. Well, if you do this, it's going to take the fun out. [00:08:31] Speaker A: Yeah, there wasn't really a way to adapt it to make it inclusive. Well, and that's, and that was kind of what Greg was saying was that he felt, I don't want to say, I don't know because I want to put great like words in Greg's mouth, but he almost felt like a burden and, you know, he felt like it was taking the fun out to have to go, so what are my cards say? What does this say? What does that say? And you know, as his vision got worse and worse, like he wanted to figure out how to deal with that. It's, it's a really cool conversation. It actually comes out Wednesday, so please check that out. I actually really, I've enjoyed all of the episodes we've, we've shot so far. We've got another one coming out. We're gonna, we're filming another one actually Tuesday and I may be filming some solo stuff. And I will say if you're listening to this and you have built something like an experience or an app or you run a website or whatever, I'd love to have you on the show. Visit aftersight.org guest and be our guest. Be our guest. Something. Something to the best or something. [00:09:42] Speaker B: Yes. From Beauty and the Beast. [00:09:43] Speaker A: Yeah, something like that. But we'd love to have you as a guest. We have a form you can fill out. My producer. Oh, you know how cool that is, by the way, to say I have a producer. That I should have just said that off the top. I don't have to do any work. And, and those that know me know that I love doing audio production and all that work. But you how freeing it is to Just be like. Just talk to my producer. My producer will handle it. And so, like, [00:10:07] Speaker B: sir, Duckworth was getting in on the chat. [00:10:09] Speaker A: Yeah. So Duckworth Quackington. Yeah. He gets to go with me to Michigan. [00:10:15] Speaker B: That's right. [00:10:16] Speaker A: It's another state he'll get to visit. I'm going on a work trip. And [00:10:19] Speaker B: we really should have, like, a Ducksworth passport or something that's like. Well, [00:10:23] Speaker A: he's been to. Let's. Let's see where Ducksworth's been. So he's been to Kentucky. He's been to Illinois [00:10:29] Speaker B: and to Seattle. Washington. [00:10:31] Speaker A: He's been to Seattle. He's been to Albuquerque. [00:10:34] Speaker B: New Albuquerque. [00:10:35] Speaker A: Well, I wasn't. Well, New [00:10:36] Speaker B: Mexico. [00:10:37] Speaker A: New Mexico, Albuquerque. [00:10:39] Speaker B: Yep. He's going to [00:10:41] Speaker A: Michigan. He'll be in Lansing and Detroit. [00:10:43] Speaker B: Yeah, [00:10:44] Speaker A: I guess technically Romulus, but [00:10:45] Speaker B: unfortunately, he hasn't gotten any pictures taken. No. A lot of the places life got busy. [00:10:51] Speaker A: But, yeah, he is going with me on that trip. I feel like he's been somewhere else, and I can't. I [00:10:56] Speaker B: mean, we took him up to. Oh, [00:10:57] Speaker A: he went. He went on our honeymoon. [00:10:59] Speaker B: Really? Another state. But [00:11:00] Speaker A: he went swimming. [00:11:01] Speaker B: Yeah. He went swimming in the giant Jacuzzi tub. [00:11:03] Speaker A: Yeah. That was cool. That was. That was neat. It was cool for him. He enjoyed it. [00:11:08] Speaker B: Yep. Got a picture of him. [00:11:09] Speaker A: We got a picture with my boss. [00:11:12] Speaker B: Yes. [00:11:13] Speaker A: We got a picture with kmac. That was cool. So, like. And she was just like, I want a selfie with the duck. [00:11:22] Speaker B: We should take him to Tipsy island and get pictures of him there. [00:11:27] Speaker A: Yes, we should. We should bring. Let's bring him today. [00:11:30] Speaker B: Yes. [00:11:31] Speaker A: If I remember. [00:11:32] Speaker B: Yeah. Shout out to Tipsy Island. Sponsored by it. No, I'm kidding. [00:11:37] Speaker A: We actually already talked about Tipsy on the. [00:11:40] Speaker B: That's right. That was our last episode. [00:11:42] Speaker A: Yes. [00:11:42] Speaker B: So I'm sorry, I. I misspoke at the beginning. We did have an episode after the what the heck is Clay Stuff, and that was Tipsy island. So. [00:11:51] Speaker A: But we'll. We'll talk about Tipsy again because they're kind of important to the clay story. [00:11:56] Speaker B: Yes. [00:11:56] Speaker A: So I'm gonna turn it over to Alyssa to talk about clay stuff again. [00:12:03] Speaker B: So welcome to what the Heck is Clay Stuff 2.0 edition. A couple of updates I wanted to make since the last time we discussed this. I was pretty ignorant about ceramic clay when we started. All except to say that, like, a lot of stuff we utilize is made with it in some way or another. We just may not know it because, you know, the glazing that's put on it turns into glass. And so it just feels like, well, everything we have is glass, it's not clay. But I since found an awesome clay studio that I go visit all the time and play with like actual ceramic clay there and they fire it for me and everything. So now I have gotten to work with all of the different types that, or at least all the types I know. I think there's some other. Maybe there's like metal clay and something else out there, but I've worked with polymer, I've worked with Airdra, I worked with ceramic and love each and every one of them for different things. And also last time I was on, I had said, yeah, I'm, you know, hoping to turn this into a business. I don't know what that's gonna look like. And well, got the pieces together and actually registered as a business toward the end of July. And since then kind of worked on some of the other pieces. Like what do I want to sell, where do I want to sell it, how do I want to ship it? You know, I had to decide what e commerce platform do I want to use. I knew I wanted to do online because I don't have a physical storefront and I'm not having a bunch of people go shopping at my house. That's not cool for so many safety reasons. [00:13:46] Speaker A: Yep, absolutely. [00:13:49] Speaker B: I wanted to do this online, but I also, you know, wanted to give myself like a P.O. box so that I'm not having on record. Here's my home address. That's also my business. Everybody come find me. So there were a lot of little things that had to happen and you know, did I want Etsy, did I want Shopify? Ultimately, Shopify won out for a number of reasons. I think they're both great platforms. I probably started with the challenging one in some ways because Etsy, from what I understand, is actually very, very good for beginners because it has a built in audience. People visit, but they're always changing the algorithm. It's all [00:14:29] Speaker A: algorithm. [00:14:30] Speaker B: It's always changing. [00:14:31] Speaker A: I'm glad that you didn't do Etsy. Personally, I was not a fan of Etsy for what you were doing. [00:14:36] Speaker B: There's also been a lot of issues with some people claiming copyright issues. Whether there is or is not an Etsy, just immediately siding with the person who claimed there was an issue. Yeah, [00:14:49] Speaker A: with the claimant [00:14:50] Speaker B: shutting someone else's. Well, [00:14:51] Speaker A: and the other problem is that you had to pay for listings. You had to pay. You had to pay. And [00:14:55] Speaker B: the listings only last for I think three months. Yeah. And then you have to renew the listing. So you have to pay for it again. [00:15:01] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:15:03] Speaker B: Shopify still has a cost. Like, nothing in life is free, but you pay for it. The. You don't have to pay per listing. You're just paying the. Either monthly or [00:15:17] Speaker A: you're paying for a store. [00:15:18] Speaker B: Yeah, [00:15:19] Speaker A: you're paying. It's like you're paying for the space, [00:15:22] Speaker B: and you get a lot more autonomy on how you want it to look like. All Etsy shops look the same. You go visit. They're all. It's all kind of the exact same format. With this, I actually got to have a little more say in. Here's where I want things to be. Here's how I want them to be. And Liam did a lot of the. Putting that piece together, which I greatly appreciate [00:15:49] Speaker A: the way to describe it, because, you know me, I love to break things down to their simple components. The difference to me between Etsy and Shopify is Etsy is a, like, farmer's market. And you can have a stall. You have to pay for the stall. All the stalls look the same. You could probably decorate your stall a little bit with. Yeah. Because you can put [00:16:12] Speaker B: pictures in it. [00:16:13] Speaker A: You can do some [00:16:14] Speaker B: stuff, headlines. But [00:16:15] Speaker A: you're at a market. You're at a bizarre. You're at, you know, what, Whatever. The market. The [00:16:21] Speaker B: French market in New Orleans. Yeah. Which is a cool. [00:16:24] Speaker A: I like. I like the flea market myself or like a farmer's market where [00:16:29] Speaker B: you get some delicious produce, [00:16:30] Speaker A: but you are, you know, essentially, you know, [00:16:35] Speaker B: releasing the space. You're [00:16:36] Speaker A: leasing the space. But [00:16:38] Speaker B: some people also said Etsy's, like, renting [00:16:41] Speaker A: kind of [00:16:42] Speaker B: a house [00:16:42] Speaker A: now. Shopify, to me is like getting a storefront, like getting an actual building. And your building comes with some stuff already that you need, I. E. A counter, a cash register. [00:16:54] Speaker B: Have your electricity, your bathrooms. [00:16:56] Speaker A: Yeah, it. It comes with. With what you need, but you still can go in. And [00:17:01] Speaker B: I want shelves in this spot. Move [00:17:03] Speaker A: your shel. Like [00:17:04] Speaker B: to look this way. [00:17:05] Speaker A: You can hang streamers. You can do all the things, but it's essentially a storefront, and it is like a space. And so, like, there's a little more setup work that needs to be done. Not a lot, though, and you would be surprised in how turnkey it is. So I would say. And. And there will probably be others that argue with me on this one, but I would say Shopify is like a turnkey solution. Um, it's turnkey enough. I definitely did some work on them. I [00:17:38] Speaker B: had to purchase a domain. We had to. Yeah. You know, forward that over there were a couple things that like. [00:17:44] Speaker A: But it's so easy website [00:17:46] Speaker B: stuff. [00:17:47] Speaker A: It's so easy. And you actually don't have to unless you want to. You can do a Shopify domain domain. They'll let you do it. It's fine. But yeah, [00:17:59] Speaker B: I wanted something that was easier than like random garbage numbers, you know. [00:18:06] Speaker A: Well, you would have gotten a real Shopify. You could. Had a real domain if you had wanted it on Shopify. We just didn't do it. You have a scrambled string, which is fine because you really don't want people going to the Shopify page. You want them going to. Well, outofsitecreations.com. [00:18:21] Speaker B: yeah. [00:18:21] Speaker A: Which is the site. And so yeah, it got launched. It's. It's pretty. There are pictures. I would be interested to know from a sighted perspective how it actually came out because it's a couple blind people. [00:18:36] Speaker B: Yeah. And we did have some other tools that looked at it. So [00:18:41] Speaker A: I mean, [00:18:41] Speaker B: I'll be forward and say that. Let's [00:18:42] Speaker A: talk about those tools. Yeah, we, we used agentic AI to do. Now I want to be clear on what we use the gentic AI for [00:18:49] Speaker B: and what we didn't use it for. [00:18:51] Speaker A: It did not write [00:18:52] Speaker B: new. [00:18:53] Speaker A: Alyssa. I [00:18:54] Speaker B: would not let it. [00:18:54] Speaker A: Alyssa did the writing. Well, what we did was I made a sheet of strings for you. And I don't mean like strings that you tug on. These are text strings. And so. And they [00:19:06] Speaker B: had little labels that said right here, write [00:19:09] Speaker A: what you want here, here's an example of what you're doing. And then it went back in and imported those [00:19:14] Speaker B: and all my product descriptions, product names, product pictures, that was all manually done. There was no. [00:19:19] Speaker A: Only thing that we let a. I do think it [00:19:22] Speaker B: did a little bit of alt text. [00:19:23] Speaker A: Alt text. And I felt comfortable enough with what we had for the alt text. [00:19:28] Speaker B: Someone notices it and kind of says, hey, this doesn't seem right. That's [00:19:32] Speaker A: the wrong [00:19:33] Speaker B: color. We'll. We'll fix that. [00:19:35] Speaker A: But it matched up well enough with what like, cuz like there were, you know, when we took pictures, there were three things on three hooks and it described all three things. And I felt comfortable enough to go, yeah, you know what? I think that's accurate enough. And really the. Not that they shouldn't be accurate, but really the descriptions were for those that were browsing with a screen reader. And I feel like they give you enough information about what's there for you to make an informed decision on whether you want it or not. So like, [00:20:03] Speaker B: yes, I have visited sites And I don't want to name any names because I have even made purchases from such sites and just have made some really lucky guesses and love what I got. But a lot of the people in the crafting space are making their content for sighted people because that's who the majority of people are. And so it kind of makes sense. You know, you may get like, I don't know, pumpkin cutter. And you kind of know, okay, that's probably what it is. But the description either just says Pumpkin. [00:20:40] Speaker A: Just says Pumpkin. [00:20:41] Speaker B: Doesn't say anything at all. There's just no description there. And so it's like. Or some will have a copy paste that they just use for all their descriptions. Like this cutter is blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Here's how you use it, here's how you care for it. And so as a blind shopper, you don't know exactly what you're getting. I [00:21:01] Speaker A: love the. I love the alt text images. That'll be like, IMG0027. [00:21:05] Speaker B: Yes. [00:21:06] Speaker A: And you're just like, oh, that's really helpful. Thanks. [00:21:08] Speaker B: Now, with some of the, like, the Image Describer on Android and the iOS 27 tools, which I still haven't updated my phone, I have updated my iPad [00:21:18] Speaker A: and the Picture Smart [00:21:19] Speaker B: ways. [00:21:20] Speaker A: And like, yeah, Picture Smart and Jaws. And so there are some [00:21:23] Speaker B: tools to use. So this isn't me complaining and going, everybody needs to do their descriptions. Like, [00:21:27] Speaker A: I just think everyone does. I don't see. I would [00:21:29] Speaker B: like to see them. I [00:21:31] Speaker A: don't see a reason not to. I mean, [00:21:33] Speaker B: that is why I make the conscious decision to write good descriptions. Because I know a lot of people who are blind and know that I've already had somebody reach out and say, hey, I appreciated that. I knew the difference between the dangles and the studs. I knew exactly what I was getting. [00:21:51] Speaker A: Yeah. And honestly, I mean, your storefronts, like Shopify made it really easy to add alt text. It was like, oh, yeah, there's an alt text box right here. I just put it here. Also, one thing that I appreciated with when using Claude was they use a block editor, and the block editor is accessible to a point, but it's a pain in the neck. And so it felt very freeing to spin up like Claude, cowork and go, hey, here's what I'm building. Help me do this thing to, you know, minimize the friction. And let me tell you, like, we got the site done a lot faster than if I were trying to do it all myself, because, oh, that would have been hard. [00:22:37] Speaker B: And Liam Controls that it's not like we just have Claude and they're looking. So like it's not going to be looking at anyone's data or anything. No. Sensitive. It only goes where Liam tells it to and only when Liam tells it to. [00:22:50] Speaker A: And at this point I don't need to tell it to do anything anymore because really [00:22:53] Speaker B: not until if I add more products, we may have to, you know, get a little bit more alt text or have it import a new. We [00:23:01] Speaker A: just need. But we won't. It. It won't go to orders. It won't pull any of that stuff. I also have the Claude Pro Max. So my understanding. And, and I'm sure someone's going to comment and be like, well, actually I'm just not true. But apparently they don't use that to train their models. So like I've turned off. You can't train with the data and, and stuff like that. So it should not be doing anything. But we, we keep it out of orders and it knows to stay out of there and I've set rules and you know. [00:23:33] Speaker B: Yeah. So your, your information is safe. And also like I don't even see a full credit card number. It's. [00:23:41] Speaker A: We don't see credit card numbers. The only thing we see [00:23:43] Speaker B: a lot of that. [00:23:44] Speaker A: The only thing we see are addresses. And I don't care. I don't care where you [00:23:47] Speaker B: labels. But yeah, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not going to your house. [00:23:52] Speaker A: I don't care where you live. I really don't. I, I don't care. I mean, I, you know, you know what? The only one, the only person I care who they live is me. I'm the only one. I, I care about where I live. I don't care about where you live. [00:24:05] Speaker B: Nope. And I don't even really pay much attention to the addresses. It's just. Okay. Did it move over to my shipping provider? Okay, we're good. It printed. Yep. So yeah, I guess that would be a good time to talk about a little bit of the equipment and stuff. So. Yeah, obviously, you know, a couple computers have been involved in all this. I have a label printer that prints. Well, prints my labels, my shipping labels. [00:24:29] Speaker A: Is that what it does? [00:24:30] Speaker B: I know. Crazy. [00:24:31] Speaker A: I thought it like printed coffee cups. [00:24:33] Speaker B: That'd be interesting. [00:24:35] Speaker A: Well, that's a 3D printer. [00:24:36] Speaker B: Yes. Don't have that. But it's. It's a thermal printer, so no ink cartridges, which is really nice. And it prints everything on label sheets and they're already fit to size and Everything so I don't have to worry about, oh no. Do I have to go in and change margins or do anything particular to make the labels fit? It all just works. That was actually a Liam idea. I had heard of label printers. I didn't really understand how they worked or if it made sense to just use a regular. [00:25:07] Speaker A: What I'm trying to do with our stupid label printer is get Bluetooth to work. That actually is [00:25:11] Speaker B: the only thing that would make it even better. [00:25:13] Speaker A: That's a goal of mine this week to figure out is why doesn't Bluetooth work? And I'm going to hammer that out because it just to plug it in is so dumb. And I know it's got Bluetooth. I can't figure out why. And I wonder if it's because maybe on Windows. It doesn't. It [00:25:30] Speaker B: definitely does on a phone because I've gotten it to see it on my iPhone before [00:25:33] Speaker A: I've gotten it to see it on Windows but it won't pick the drivers up. So I do wonder if maybe I just need to print it from a phone, which that's doable. [00:25:41] Speaker B: Yeah. I wonder if Mac would work better. That'd be kind of funny if it did. [00:25:45] Speaker A: It probably would. [00:25:50] Speaker B: But [00:25:50] Speaker A: I'm not about to try it because I hate Mac. So [00:25:54] Speaker B: yeah, I, I don't. I [00:25:57] Speaker A: use my Mac as little as humanly possible. But yeah. So you got a label printer [00:26:05] Speaker B: and the United States Postal Service does free flat rate boxes. [00:26:09] Speaker A: Yes. They are really nice. [00:26:11] Speaker B: So yes, at this point in time I am us only because I don't have the capacity to deal with customs and some of the other logistics that go into doing international shipping. [00:26:25] Speaker A: Yeah, [00:26:26] Speaker B: I did have one person that said, oh, I'll just get something shipped to myself and then ship it off to a friend somewhere else. [00:26:31] Speaker A: I mean that's, that's all up to you. [00:26:33] Speaker B: You are welcome to do that. But when you get it, inspect what you have. Make sure it's good and then you will need to pack it extra secure for the extra long trip. [00:26:41] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean once, once it gets to you, it's like it's out of our hands. So like what you do with it afterwards is all you. [00:26:48] Speaker B: If you get something and there's a problem, reach out. I have contact information listed and it's out of sight creations the number 11 mail.com [00:26:59] Speaker A: and we've got the way to like we can file the stuff and everything. I keep saying like we like I do stuff. But [00:27:07] Speaker B: you did put the site together and have been really helpful with you know, figuring out the shipping integration with pirate ship. I don't think that's any big secret because like anyone that gets the label is going to see it [00:27:19] Speaker A: says. But yeah, it is a cool little. So pirate ship is a shipping platform. What I like about it is you can get labels at like below cost. So we're able to save a couple bucks on our USPS labels. [00:27:35] Speaker B: Yeah. It's like, [00:27:36] Speaker A: I believe like even ups, you can get killer discounts on it. [00:27:40] Speaker B: And there's different. So like they're one. There's a ship station's another one I've heard of. There's a few of these that I guess are able to cut some of the cost off of the typical retail because they're. [00:27:53] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:27:53] Speaker B: Kind of designed for. I [00:27:55] Speaker A: do like pirate ship though. I know like, Jay is really big on it from AT guys and like even a fear when he's had to ship things, I guess he's used it because you just make a label, you stick it on a box and it's just. It's a really straightforward, simple, accessible process. [00:28:13] Speaker B: So there's that. And of course I have like packing materials for inside the boxes so that everything's nice and protected. And [00:28:21] Speaker A: yes, [00:28:22] Speaker B: I actually have some. I have bubble mailers. [00:28:24] Speaker A: You got something else cool that you're shipping in the box too, besides the product? Because, I [00:28:29] Speaker B: mean, the products are, you know, that goes without saying. Bs. Everything is a little bubble mailers. And I think we did have. I think it was your mom that's like, why don't you just ship it in the bubble mailer? Like, because I want it to arrive intact. [00:28:39] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:28:41] Speaker B: And little fact about post office. If you send something in a flat mailer, they put it through like a rolling scanner of some kind. There's some kind of roller that it goes through and that can crush jewelry. And we don't want that. [00:28:55] Speaker A: No. [00:28:57] Speaker B: So that's why boxes. So I know I've spent a lot of time now yammering about equipment things. Oh yeah. The. The one more thing that's inside the box. [00:29:07] Speaker A: One more thing each [00:29:08] Speaker B: box will include. And I think I forgot to put it in a box for one person. Sorry, Kevin. Catch him till after I'd already sealed it up. [00:29:19] Speaker A: Oops. [00:29:20] Speaker B: Oh, sorry, buddy. But it's. It's a freebie, so at least this person didn't pay for it. I don't know who that guy is or if he's out there listening, but if you are, I'm so sorry that you got excluded from this. Next time, next Time. Each box will include a little thank you note that is written in braille. [00:29:41] Speaker A: In braille. 100% organic braille. [00:29:46] Speaker B: Yes. Is either from a slate and stylus or a Perkins. Whatever mood I'm in that day. [00:29:53] Speaker A: So that'll be cool. You know, that'll be. [00:29:56] Speaker B: And I cut little orientation corners for those who maybe don't know Braille as well, or for sighted people that are wondering, well, where does the braille start? So top left will always have a little notch. And yeah, with that, I'm [00:30:12] Speaker A: gonna say just like, thank you for spending money. Or something like that. Oh, [00:30:16] Speaker B: thank you for spending [00:30:17] Speaker A: money. [00:30:18] Speaker B: Thank you for spending your [00:30:20] Speaker A: cash. Oh, all right. Well, I see what our episode title is. Thank you for spending your cash. Oh, [00:30:28] Speaker B: see, I figured it was gonna be everyone else's podcast since we were just, like, plugging all these different. Well, [00:30:32] Speaker A: it was, and now it's thankful for spending your cash. That's kind of how we just got a ladder. So started. You know, [00:30:39] Speaker B: that actually happened yesterday. Like, you started that one, so I just kind of borrowed it today. [00:30:44] Speaker A: Well, whatever. That's title now. [00:30:47] Speaker B: But yeah, the actual products themselves, you know, that's kind of a. [00:30:50] Speaker A: Yeah. So what are you selling? [00:30:52] Speaker B: I've spent all this time about everything else. So right now I have earrings. I have jewelry and trinket dishes. So I have, like, some larger ones that you can put, you know, keys in. Or if you're working in an office and have, like, little paper clips or other small office supplies, you might put them in there. If you're always misplacing your earbuds, might be a good spot for them. Have these littler ones. I [00:31:21] Speaker A: feel judged right now, by the way. I just want to point that out. [00:31:24] Speaker B: It wasn't aimed at anybody in particular. [00:31:26] Speaker A: Okay. [00:31:29] Speaker B: It's just we always need places to rest our items when we're not using them. Right. [00:31:36] Speaker A: Yeah, that's true. [00:31:38] Speaker B: And then little, because rings are smaller, so they. I kind of have my own little dedicated ruffled ring dishes. And they're called that because they have, like, kind of a cool ruffled texture edge. [00:31:49] Speaker A: Yep. [00:31:50] Speaker B: And then there is Christmas ornaments, or there are Christmas ornaments. Coffee's still working its way in. And have a couple different kinds of those may potentially add others as we see. We'll. We'll see. Right now I have three different ornaments. I have these cool Christmas gift sets that have matching pieces. So you get an ornament, a necklace, and a pair of dangle earrings, plus a pair of studs. So if you want to get somebody a Matching set of things. You can. Or, [00:32:29] Speaker A: and I believe those are in two shapes, [00:32:32] Speaker B: Christmas trees or snowmen. [00:32:33] Speaker A: So you can pick and expose the gift [00:32:36] Speaker B: sets. I know both. Both my mom and stepmom and my aunt for that matter, love to collect all the snowman things. Like there's snowmen all over the house. So those are kind of the people that I thought of with that one. And so you could give somebody an entire matching set. Or maybe you're a family that likes to have matchy match things. And so I don't know, like, grandma gets the ornament, mom gets the necklace. [00:33:02] Speaker A: Yep. [00:33:02] Speaker B: You can split it up. Little [00:33:04] Speaker A: Susie gets the dangle earrings or whatever, so. [00:33:08] Speaker B: Or, you know, you want the family to have an ornament, so mom and dad get the ornament, grandma gets a necklace, and you can split it up all kinds of ways. Or [00:33:14] Speaker A: you could buy a gift set for several. I like that idea myself. Buy a gift set for everyone in your family. And then you have the grab bags. [00:33:22] Speaker B: The grab bags are fun because you can get pretty much anything from any time of year. So you could get turtle earrings or shamrock earrings or a pumpkin shaped trinket dish. [00:33:37] Speaker A: Yeah. You have no idea what you're gonna get. It's like a surprise. [00:33:40] Speaker B: Yes. [00:33:41] Speaker A: And it's. I didn't want to [00:33:42] Speaker B: use the term mystery box because that's technically like trademarked, which who knew? But that's a way that several Etsy shoppers have gotten. Or Etsy owners have gotten shut down by referring to something they had as a mystery box. So I chose grab bag. [00:34:01] Speaker A: Yep. And so you'll get. Yeah, you can get either. Is it either dishes, [00:34:06] Speaker B: dishes, earrings, or kind of a mixture, [00:34:08] Speaker A: like a hodgepodge? [00:34:10] Speaker B: Yes, [00:34:10] Speaker A: of either. And yeah, it's. It's a cool thing. So. Oh, and worry stones. Describe a worry stone. Because I always describe the worry stone as like the size of an airtag. [00:34:21] Speaker B: I would say that's pretty accurate. And if someone's like, well, I don't have an air tag. If you've ever seen, like the dollar coin, it's. I would say it's about that kind of size, but it's a lot thicker than a dollar coin. Because the idea is it's like a flat disc. Or some of them are kind of oval. They're hand flattened, so the shape isn't always precise. And they have like a divot in the middle where you can, you know, run your finger or thumb. Some people like them as little handheld fidgets or, you know, it's kind of A calming, soothing. Like a lot of us in the blind community. I don't know exact stats, so please be gentle. But we stim. It's something that happens, and some of us grow out of it really well, others do not. Some, you know, try to keep a lid on it in public, but at home, it's, you know, just the way it goes. But it is another way to kind of channel some of that. And they're in all kinds of pretty colors. So I'm. I'm a rocker. Always kind of have been try to, like, not be one in public, but. [00:35:39] Speaker A: Yeah, so I've always been [00:35:41] Speaker B: kind of looking for ways to. [00:35:43] Speaker A: Something to do with. [00:35:44] Speaker B: Channel that energy somewhere else. [00:35:45] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. So worry stones. We have those. And can we talk about, like, what might be coming? [00:35:51] Speaker B: Yes. So in the pipeline, I am looking at, and I've already done a couple of, I guess, beginning prototypes on some of these things, but I want to do cane and bag charms. And I. I say that they're. They would both be the same charm, but I'm already waiting on the. Well, I don't have a cane, so why would I use a cane charm? Well, you don't have to charm. Yeah. Do you have a. Do you carry a. A purse or a backpack or, like, a laptop bag and either just want something to put on it for fun, or do you and that other guy in the office have the same laptop bag? [00:36:36] Speaker A: Yep. [00:36:36] Speaker B: So you want to make it a little bit different, [00:36:38] Speaker A: make it unique. [00:36:40] Speaker B: And for those of us that use canes, we know that especially if you're gathering with other people that use canes, someone could get lost and mixed up along the way. [00:36:52] Speaker A: So do you have any ideas so far for, like, what animals or shapes you want to use yet? [00:36:58] Speaker B: So we already know that turtles are cool because you've had a few people, like, wow, look at the turtle. [00:37:04] Speaker A: I sure have. It sounds like cat, too. Was another one that. Yeah, a lot [00:37:09] Speaker B: of people were interested in cats. I have to decide what color I want for cats. Well, [00:37:13] Speaker A: orange, of course. [00:37:17] Speaker B: I'm just not sure what the right shade of oranges for a cat. I [00:37:21] Speaker A: don't know. I'll have to find that out [00:37:22] Speaker B: because I don't know if it's like, a light, like, can [00:37:25] Speaker A: we do. Let's do butterflies. [00:37:28] Speaker B: Do [00:37:28] Speaker A: you have a butterfly? [00:37:29] Speaker B: I do, and I have, like, a cool, like, kind of tangerine orange for butterflies. [00:37:34] Speaker A: Nice. So there you go. You can do. I think it'd be [00:37:37] Speaker B: a different orange for a cat. I would gather that cats are more like a Pumpkiny orange. But I don't actually know if anyone knows like what shade of orange a cat is. Like an orange tabby. [00:37:48] Speaker A: Yep. [00:37:48] Speaker B: Let us know, please. [00:37:50] Speaker A: I think he got [00:37:51] Speaker B: to message farmer girl with. With her feral cats. What color is Greg? Yes, one of her orange cats is Greg [00:37:57] Speaker A: Greg. [00:37:58] Speaker B: And then I think the other one was Jorge. [00:38:02] Speaker A: I. I love that I am interviewing a Greg and a Jorge for the podcast. I [00:38:07] Speaker B: know [00:38:09] Speaker A: Greg didn't sound like a cat. If Jorge sounds like a cat, I'm going to have questions. Uh, but that, that's kind of great. Okay. Six degrees of separation. I guess so. Yeah. And we'd love to hear like what ideas you have for things you want to see and. And obviously reasonable ideas like we're not doing. [00:38:29] Speaker B: Yeah, might do like some doggy paws because. [00:38:32] Speaker A: Oh, dog paws would be cool. [00:38:33] Speaker B: You know, we got a lot of guide dog folks, myself included. I mean, I don't currently have one, but have had a couple. [00:38:41] Speaker A: So you got quite a few ideas that you could do for. And I think the charms would do well. There was a lot of interest like on my live streams and stuff over. Over charms. So I would love to see those [00:38:51] Speaker B: charms. Hair barrettes, because I have. [00:38:56] Speaker A: And you've been getting that to work too, right? You've been making them work. [00:39:00] Speaker B: I've worn a few myself. I actually gave a few to Creative Corner, which is the ceramic clay studio I was talking about earlier. Yeah, I should say they're more of a crafting studio. Like they do ceramic clay. They also do some other things. Like they have. If you're into glass fusing, they do that. They also have like pre made ceramic pottery pieces that you can like go just glaze, paint and color them. [00:39:26] Speaker A: Speaking of your work being in places, we're gonna do the turnaround to Tipsy Island. [00:39:32] Speaker B: They are also going to be selling work for me. [00:39:35] Speaker A: Yes. In fact, we are bringing over a bunch of stuff today. [00:39:38] Speaker B: Yes. I've got like a couple of sandwich bags full of stuff. Because she said bring a bunch of stuff. I don't know what a bunch of stuff means. So I'm taking that very literally. And bringing like three sandwich bags of stuff. And she can pick what she would like to sell. [00:39:53] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:39:54] Speaker B: Or all of it. You know, either way is cool. [00:39:56] Speaker A: So I'll be running that over today and that'll be cool to go see them and. Yeah. So if you were. [00:40:03] Speaker B: I forget. I thought there was a third thing that I was like. Yeah, this is on the. Oh, keychains. Keychains [00:40:09] Speaker A: on [00:40:09] Speaker B: the radar. Which Will be kind of similar and creative. [00:40:15] Speaker A: Those are thematically similar. Right. To. It's [00:40:18] Speaker B: just a different kind of hook. It's like, do you want the circle that you put your keys on, or do you want the clip? [00:40:25] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:40:26] Speaker B: And so they're. [00:40:27] Speaker A: So it's [00:40:28] Speaker B: similar [00:40:28] Speaker A: thematically. Yeah. [00:40:30] Speaker B: Probably would have different designs or maybe some of them. You get your choice of whether you want it to be a keychain. I'd [00:40:38] Speaker A: like to get into next year if I can figure out. I want to get into 3D printing because I'm really intrigued by that. I still want to do my keychains. [00:40:51] Speaker B: Yes. And he's got. I don't want to, like, give that all away unless, you know you want to. But I know Liam's got some kind of cool keychain ideas. [00:41:00] Speaker A: I have ideas, and I'd love to 3D print, and I'm interested to see if that could. [00:41:05] Speaker B: And I've had the question of, like, well, would you put braille on your clay? And the problem I'm running into with that is I haven't found a great way to do so. So if a piece is thin enough, I can technically slate and stylus on it, which is cool. But I don't know how well it actually. How well you can see it. I know you can kind of feel it, which is, you know, kind of the point of braille. But also, to me, if I'm gonna wear braille on my bling, I want the side of people to be able. We [00:41:34] Speaker A: also got. I got you these stampy things, and they don't really stamp well. They're just not. [00:41:39] Speaker B: They're one of those cool ideas, and I think that they were designed for, like, people making cookies or, like, for the kids to use for their play DOH projects. And they do some, but they also leave kind of an imprint of a rectangle for each, which, if I was doing, like, a longer, like, a bookmark or something that I wanted to have oversized braille on or something that could be cool. Like, I don't want to say that they don't have a use but for smaller, like, jewelry pieces and keychains. Still trying to figure that out. I've also played with rhinestones. The issue with those is the spacing and getting that to be precise. I am. I am a braille snob. I will be the first to say that if something isn't the right size of braille, I will probably notice. And I would expect the same to be true if I sent something out to somebody else and it wasn't the right size. I'm going to get a. Hey, do you even know what you're doing? [00:42:38] Speaker A: Yeah, so it does make sense. But yeah, that's, that's kind of why there's not braille on stuff. But you get a braille note, so that's cool. [00:42:45] Speaker B: Yes. [00:42:46] Speaker A: I mean like a note, not an actual braille note. [00:42:48] Speaker B: No, that's a little out of my price range. Sorry guys. [00:42:51] Speaker A: We just don't, we don't throw an evolve in the box and call the day. But yeah, it's, it's really have [00:42:58] Speaker B: to be luxury handcrafted items, [00:43:01] Speaker A: so. And again, that's out of sight. Creations.com and there is one more thing. If you order more than $70, your shipping is free. [00:43:09] Speaker B: That's right. [00:43:10] Speaker A: So [00:43:11] Speaker B: get two of those gift sets and you're covered [00:43:14] Speaker A: and you don't pay for shipping. And I think the shipping is really fair. It's fast. Obviously US only right now and that does include all 50 states and like the minor, the territories, the minor outlaying islands and stuff. Like I think we even shipped to Guam. So like all of you listening in Guam and the American Samoa, like you, you can get stuff [00:43:35] Speaker B: if you can get USPS flat rate. [00:43:37] Speaker A: Yeah, [00:43:38] Speaker B: we, we got you, [00:43:40] Speaker A: we got you covered. So that's kind of what we've been working on. That's, that's been our projects and why we've been so busy, [00:43:46] Speaker B: why we haven't been recording, been busy putting all this together. In fact, I need to probably after this go put together some more Christmas trees. Christmas tree. [00:43:57] Speaker A: Christmas trees are popular. [00:43:59] Speaker B: Those are already popular. [00:44:00] Speaker A: Are the, is it the studs that are selling or the dangles? [00:44:03] Speaker B: So I just have dangles that are separate from the gift sets. [00:44:06] Speaker A: Okay. [00:44:07] Speaker B: I did not do studs separate because, you know, I wanted, wanted there to be a reason to get the gift set. [00:44:12] Speaker A: Yeah, that's true. So yeah, check that out. The other thing that I have going on is the marathon. So if you've listened to anything I've done for any length of time, especially on YouTube, you know that usually every year or two, I will do a streaming marathon. And this year because I hit 3, 000 subscribers, I am doing a viewer's choice marathon where people will get to vote and pick games. There will be a big giant list. And each time we go play a game, I'll pick four games out of the list. People vote and then the one that wins is the one that I play for like an hour to an hour and a half or I mean, if It's a smaller game, obviously. It's shorter. We go play it. You [00:44:50] Speaker B: have to play it three times. [00:44:52] Speaker A: Yeah. No, we play it once, and we pick another game, and we pick another game, and we'll have the Wheel of Pain, which those that have tuned in. Remember, every 75 of donations that come in, cumulatively, not like. Like, you could donate 5 and someone could donate 5 and someone else, but every 75, I'll spin the wheel, and the wheel could make me eat a fiery jelly bean. Or I could have to eat salted licorice, which is so gross. Or there will be a few other surprises on the wheel, and it's. It's just gonna be one of those fun marathons where I hang out with viewers and play games all day, and we'll have surprises. I'm still working on the prizes, so, like, more to come on that. I have gotten some interest from a couple people, so there will be some things to win. It won't be like, past marathons where there's been, like, a cornucopia of stuff. But I don't know. I could surprise myself. I said that, I think, two years ago, and then, like, I ended up having a whole bunch of prizes. So we'll see. We'll see what happens. But that is November 28th. Time. [00:45:57] Speaker B: Probably be around. Unless I'm. Unless Creative Corners doing something fun. [00:46:02] Speaker A: I'm time still to be determined. Probably 8am Central, or I'm saying 9am Central. Nine or ten. I don't know. It depends. I don't know yet. So kind of watch my channel and all that stuff for more info, but it's going to be fun. And again, we've had a lot to talk about today, and that's why we've been so quiet. We've been busy, plus work, plus life. You know, [00:46:27] Speaker B: I also did want to take a second because, yeah, Tipsy island got their own show pretty much last time. So I also wanted to take a moment to talk about Creative Corner. That's my. My crafting studio that I mentioned a little bit ago. I emailed them a few months back because I wanted to go in and try it, but I didn't want there to be any surprises when a blind lady shows up at the door. And I cannot begin to stress how warm and welcoming they were. And I've been back several, many times since then. They are selling some work for me. So, yeah, you know, if there's ever a thing that you want to do, and it's. It's very much personal choice whether you Want to give people advance notice? No, I'm. I'm not here to say there's a right or a wrong way to do that. I deal with anxiety. I would rather know in advance, to the degree that I can how I'm going to be treated when I walk in the door. So I made the decision to reach out, say, hey, I'm interested in coming to try some clay. Is that, you know, okay with you all? Do you have any questions or concerns that I can answer for you before I get there? And they were just quick to say, oh, no, please come in. We welcome everybody. And they really do. So if there's something that, you know, you want to do in your community, I would say that's if you are the plan in advance type. Just let them know and be open to questions if they have any. Or if you like to try your luck and show up, then do that, too. I don't think these folks would have given me any trouble had I made that choice. I just. For me, it was like, I'm. I'm paying to take the Uber there. I want to set myself up for success and to have a fun time. [00:48:21] Speaker A: I also think it is nice when you reach out to somebody and say, hey, is this going to be a problem? Because, like, it shows that you're caring, and it shows. And. And I am. I'm kind of a proponent of. And I'm, you know, whatever. I am a proponent of disclosing that because I also think if it were me and I were doing something and somebody had a challenge that they considered, like, they might be challenging, I would love to know that, because I can make sure that you have what you need. [00:48:53] Speaker B: Well, I was. [00:48:54] Speaker A: And I can prepare. [00:48:56] Speaker B: Yeah, I was. I'll share a little story right quick about a thing that I was doing one time, and I'll be kind of vague on names and stuff, because I don't want to call anybody out, but I was gonna meet with somebody about a thing and set everything up. And when I met with them, they told me that they had a hearing loss, and I was like, oh, my God, I wish you would have told me. I would have sent you what you needed ahead of time. [00:49:24] Speaker A: Why don't you just tell that that was me? [00:49:27] Speaker B: It was. [00:49:28] Speaker A: It was. [00:49:29] Speaker B: But I didn't know if you wanted to, like, put that out there. It [00:49:32] Speaker A: was for. Everyone knows that I'm deaf except me. I haven't figured it out yet, apparently, but, like, yeah, I mean, you know, there are, like. It is nice to know. And it was Something where [00:49:43] Speaker B: I wasn't mad or anything, but it was like, oh, there are things I could have done to make this process a little bit easier for you if I had known that. So [00:49:50] Speaker A: some background because we, we told the story on the podcast already during the tornado, [00:49:54] Speaker B: how we met, [00:49:55] Speaker A: when we met, we did that project for class and [00:49:59] Speaker B: I had a pre done list of questions that the other person that I interviewed for that was also deafblind. I knew this ahead of time and sent the questions because I knew that would be helpful and would have been happy to do it again had I known. [00:50:18] Speaker A: And halfway, I think through that prospect, I mentioned something about being like deaf blind, and you were just like, oh. And I mean, again, it's, it's not something that I always disclose because I don't feel like I need to because there are times I can work through it. I went to go vote last Friday. I did my early voting and the, the person I felt so bad because they were sitting to my right, who filling out the paperwork and asking me all these questions and I am just like fighting so hard to understand what they're saying. So I did like the. And it won't translate to the podcast, but like, I pretzeled my neck around. [00:50:55] Speaker B: Yeah, you had your head way turned [00:50:57] Speaker A: and. Because I, my hearing aids were in my pocket, but I couldn't really grab them. Also, like, not that it would be a problem, I just didn't want to have them on while I was trying to [00:51:07] Speaker B: use the [00:51:08] Speaker A: headset to vote and use the headset and stuff. I know, they were just like, you could tell that they had never used these before. They were just like, yeah, we. Sorry if these aren't comfortable. And I was like, they're fine. They're headphones. They're good. It's [00:51:21] Speaker B: not like I'm wearing these for a long time, but [00:51:24] Speaker A: it was a cool experience. And, and I, I just want to like, say really quick, like, if your precinct has it and it works, it is fantastic. Most precincts should understand how they operate. They have to go through a process where the, the things are tested. So I had asked about that. I'm like, well, how often do you guys use these? And they're like, oh, you're like the first person. And I was like, oh, and you guys know how these work? And they're like, yeah, we have to get trained and we have to test them. So I know that there's been a lot of complaints about, well, my voting place doesn't have them or doesn't know how they work. I feel like that has improved. Now I can only speak for, like, my county, but I do feel like the expectation has gotten better on that. The accessible voting machine, or what do they call, I might be like, AVI or ATI or whatever it's called works. And it was cool. It was a good experience. And so if you want to go vote, please go vote. If you don't want to vote, that's cool, too. That's your business. I'm not going to tell you how to live your life. Um, but I will say that the process was. Was smooth. I was done in 10 minutes. Now, this was a midterm, so there were a lot less contests. There were 22. And, yeah, it was. It was quick. I was done in 10 minutes, and they were just like, oh, cool. Like, because I'd hit the button and then it printed out and she's like, oh, you're done. And I'm like, yeah, yeah, we're. We're good to go. [00:52:52] Speaker B: Yeah. All that to say, if there's a thing you want to go do, go do it. Whether it's voting. Going to try a new hobby. Like, it can be very easy to just. Nah, I don't know if I want to. But, you know, I decided to try something new. I loved it. I've been back. I even took Mary Mozzarella last weekend. We're going to a workshop there in December to build clay Christmas trees, so. [00:53:25] Speaker A: Well, there's this concern, I think, that people have, of failure, and. And sometimes I think you need to fail to succeed. And so, like, it's something that I've talked about. Like, I think it's okay to go try something and go, yeah, this was a horrible experience, but you will never know until you try it. And. And it's okay to, like, [00:53:43] Speaker B: this business could be a massive flop for me. I hope it's not. But, [00:53:47] Speaker A: I mean, it's like, I appreciate everyone that's ordered. Thanks to everyone that's. That's ordered, and hopefully we'll see more. [00:53:55] Speaker B: I've seen some people say they want to go Christmas shopping, and I love to hear that. And I hope that everybody finds something they love. And I know that's kind of the opposite of what all the small business gurus say. It's always like, well, find a niche. You have to be really specific. And I come from a world where, like, I am a niche and really specific. So I want to welcome everybody. [00:54:16] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly. So that's what we've been up to, and we'd love to hear what you've been up to because it has been a long time since we've recorded one of these. If you're watching or, well, I guess listening on YouTube, please leave us a comment, let us know what's going on in your world. We would love to hear from you. And again, please check out outofsightcreations.com [00:54:36] Speaker B: Yep. And that's O U T O F S I G H t just like our 404 site. S I g H t not found. No, they're not related. It just kind of happened that way. [00:54:46] Speaker A: And then please check out aftersight.org for my blind tech podcast thing. Blind Level Tech, which I've only been the host of for a few weeks now, but it's been a fun few weeks. And [00:55:00] Speaker B: you've already gotten three episodes recorded a fourth one on the way. [00:55:03] Speaker A: Yeah. And we've got some more planned. Some really cool guests coming up that I can't announce because we haven't announced them. But like, I'm excited for what's coming and yeah, it's going to be really, really cool. And I will also be doing some solo tech stuff as well. So one of the things that I'm waiting for is one court and one court really quick is this really cool tablet that is supposed to make sports more accessible by giving you haptic and audio feedback of what's going on on the field. And so there are like overlays for baseball, football, and I believe basketball with more coming. And I'm really interested in seeing where this goes, seeing how it works. I guess before I got here they had them on the show. I'd love to get them back. So we'll see if we can rustle up some. Some one court folk. They're the ones that I wanted to talk to for a very long time because those that know me know that I love sports, especially hockey. I don't know if you knew that. That I like hockey. I [00:56:13] Speaker B: had no idea. [00:56:13] Speaker A: No, you had no clue at all? [00:56:15] Speaker B: Like you didn't take an entire trip to Washington to go watch Silvertips games? No, [00:56:20] Speaker A: no, I absolutely did not. Nor do I have a framed [00:56:25] Speaker B: silver tips jersey [00:56:26] Speaker A: team signed jersey in the living room or anything like that? Or [00:56:30] Speaker B: a signed cowbell on the entertainment center, [00:56:34] Speaker A: which will be our next episode, [00:56:36] Speaker B: hopefully. We've said that the last two episodes now. So what else is going to happen in between now and when we actually get that one done? [00:56:42] Speaker A: We'll try to get that done. So anyways, I do want to thank you guys for being here. This has been a lot of fun. I want to hear from you. Tell. Tell me what's going on in your world. And we will see you when we see you. Next time on 404 sight not found.
